In the mid-seventies, Buono and Bianchi worked as pimps in L.A., and after a conflict with another pimp and prostitute, the two men kidnapped Yolanda Washington in October 1977. She is believed to have been their first victim. In subsequent months, they preyed upon nine more victims, ranging in age from twelve to nearly thirty years old. All were raped and tortured before being murdered. Bundy managed to from law enforcement twice; once while awaiting a pre-trial hearing in early 1977, and once in December of that same year. According to reports, Chikatilo suffered from impotence beginning in puberty and was generally shy around women. However, he committed his known first sexual assault in 1973, while working as a teacher, when he approached a teenage student, fondled her breasts, and then ejaculating on her. In 1978, Chikatilo progressed to murder, when he kidnapped and attempted to rape a nine-year-old girl.

Unable to maintain an erection, he strangled her and threw her body in a nearby river. Later, Chikatilo claimed that after this first killing, he was only able to achieve an orgasm by slashing and killing women and children. Over the next several years, dozens of women and children­–of both sexes–were found sexually assaulted, mutilated, and murdered around the former Soviet Union and Ukraine. In 1990, Andrei Chikatilo was arrested after being questioned by a police officer that had a railway station under surveillance; the station was where several victims had been last seen alive. During questioning, Chikatilo was introduced to psychiatrist, who had written a lengthy psychological profile of the then-unknown killer in 1985. After hearing extracts from Bukhanovsky’s profile, Chikatilo confessed.

At his trial, he was sentenced to death, and in February 1994, was executed. During her four marriages, eleven of the thirteen children she bore died, as did her mother, all suffering from strange stomach pains before passing away. Her stepson by her last husband died as well, and a parish official became suspicious. The boy’s body was exhumed for examination, and Cotton was sent to jail, where she delivered her thirteenth child in January 1873. Two months later, her trial began, and the jury deliberated for just over an hour before returning a guilty verdict. Cotton was sentenced to execution by hanging, but there was a problem with the rope being too short, and she strangled to death instead.

Between 1855 and 1861, Martin Dumollard and his wife Marie lured at least six young women to their home in France, where they strangled them and buried their bodies in the yard. The two were arrested when a kidnapping victim escaped and took police to the Dumollard home. Martin was executed at the guillotine, and Marie was hanged. Although six of their victims were confirmed, there has been speculation that the number may have been much higher. There is also a theory that the Dumollards were engaging in vampirism and cannibalism, but these allegations are unsubstantiated by evidence.

The GBI is investigating after Athens police shot and killed a man who allegedly pulled a gun on officers while they were responding to a fight between neighbors.

The incident happened shortly after 8 p.m. Saturday at The Oaks Apartments off Gaines Road, the agency said in a news release. Officers were sent to investigate a noise complaint call between two neighbors, the Athens-Clarke County Police Department said in a statement.

When police arrived, they were told one neighbor had threatened to shoot the other neighbor during the dispute, police said. A little while later, officers found the neighbor involved and tried to question him. The man, identified by the GBI as 45-year-old Nan Zhao, ignored the officers’ commands and took cover behind a dumpster, according to the GBI.

He then pulled out a handgun and fired at the officers, officials said. Both officers returned fire and the man was hit. He was taken to a local hospital, where he died, police said. Both officers involved were placed on administrative leave pending an investigation by the GBI, officials said. This is the 72nd officer-involved shooting investigation the GBI has opened in 2019, and the 6th in Athens.

Deputies say that around 3:20 a.m., they received a call from a woman who said her ex-husband was on her property.

She said she has a restraining order against him. The suspect was gone by the time deputies arrived, so the began patrolling the area and saw his car. He managed to get away but then when they spotted him a second time, he sped off, and they followed. They had to use stop sticks to end the chase. That's when deputies say the man got out of the car and pointed a gun at deputies. A deputy fired a single gunshot, hitting the suspect.

Florida quarterback Kyle Trask is a big reason behind Florida's momentum.

'He's a good quarterback,' Smart said on the SEC coaches teleconference last week. 'He's more athletic than you think he is, he does a good job running it.' Trask, a 6-foo-5, 239-pound redshirt junior from Manvel, Texas, has proven he can extend plays with his running ability.

Trask's confidence and efficiency has been growing, too. He has 11 touchdown passes and just two interceptions over the past four games.

'Kyle, since the day I got here, he's worked on his development,' Gators coach Dan Mullen said. 'So he constantly did that to get ready to play. So when his number was called, he was ready to get on the field and go perform.' Trask ranks third in the SEC and 19th in the nation with a 159.2 pass efficiency rating. Smart has taken note, well-aware Florida has a great supporting cast for its quarterback, too. 'Kyle has done a tremendous job coming in and taking over and not skipping a beat,' Smart said. 'As you look across the board, they have a really veteran receiver group, probably one of the best wide receiver group, if you include the tight end in that, probably in the country.'

Indeed, tight end Kyle Pitts is Florida's leading receiver with 35 catches for 391 yards and 4 touchdowns, and he figures to be a tough matchup for Georgia. But Florida coach Dan Mullen is known as quarterback guru of sorts, so when he speaks about players at the position, people listen. Against Kentucky, the 6-foot-2, 220-pound junior from Warner Robins, had five rushing attempts. 'They don't do a whole lot of quarterback run game with him,' Mullen said. 'W e don't let outside forces control what we do inside,' Smart said last Tuesday. 'That's just the belief that I've had for a long time.' Smart's other belief is that his Bulldogs' offenses need to be balanced and capable of running the ball at will.

That philosophy has led to some slow starts. Most recently, a 0-0 halftime tie with Kentucky in cold, windy and rainy conditions last Saturday. 'I would say there's no reason to worry, because if you look at the South Carolina game, we had almost 500 yards of offense,' UGA graduate transfer tight end Eli Wolf said. 'It was just one thing led to another, and we turned the ball over.

Turnover margin is one of the biggest stats for winning and losing games.' And that 35 yards of passing against the Wildcats in the 21-0 win? 'Kentucky, it was a monsoon, it was raining and it's hard to throw the ball in those conditions so we made the run game work and we came away with a win,' Wolf said. 'So I don't know what more you could ask for from an offense than winning SEC games. 'We hold ourselves to a high standard and we're never pleased, but I'm not concerned, I like where we're at and I think we're going to keep getting better.' Brian Herrien didn't play against South Carolina on account of back spasms, but he felt it was an isolated situation for the offense. 'I feel like it was just one game,' Herrien said.

DawgNation reported on Thursday the two key pieces to finalizing the deal involved the substantial increase in revenue, and a shorter-term for the extension. Georgia will rake in $9 million in revenue over a two-year period by playing in Jacksonville.

A home-and-home series with the Gators would generate approximately $4 million in net revenue, per UGA athletic director Greg McGarity. McGarity explained how the new two-year deal which extends Jacksonville as the 'neutral' site from 2021 to 2023 is worth $1.2 million more than the previous deal. The new deal has Georgia making $5 millionmore over two years than it would have playing a home-and-home.

McGarity said UGA will propose new legislation that would provide some recruiting flexibility at annual neutral site games. 'You wouldn't have campus tours, but you could welcome them,' McGarity said. 'The bottom line is there could be more variations. 'We'd like more flexibility to facilitate prospective student athletes.'

The timing of the Florida game, in late October-early November, falls at a crucial part of the recruiting calendar. A new early signing date was added in December two years ago, amplifying the importance of in-season official visits. 'Our version of the LSU-Alabama game is held in Jacksonville and we don't have prospects, so it's not conducive to recruiting,' Smart said.
